CoinWise ("we", "us") is an iOS app operated by ELKAWEB LLC. This policy explains what we collect, why, and what you control. It's short because our data practices are simple.
What we collect
- Coin photos you capture. Uploaded to our secure Supabase storage so our identification service can analyze them. Photos remain accessible only to you, protected by row-level security tied to your account ID.
- Identification results. The coin name, value estimate, grade, and confidence score returned for each scan, saved to your account so you can review your history.
- Your collection. Coins you save, grades, purchase prices, notes, albums, stored in our database and visible only to you.
- Anonymous account ID. When you first open the app we create an anonymous account so your data can persist across launches. No email, phone number, or personal details are required.
- Subscription state. Managed via RevenueCat and Apple. We receive whether you're subscribed, but never your payment details.
- Optional push notification token. If you allow push notifications, OneSignal receives a device token so we can send value-change alerts on coins in your collection.
What we do NOT collect
- No name, email, phone, or address (unless you optionally sign in with one)
- No advertising identifiers, no ad networks, no tracking pixels
- No contact list, no location, no microphone
- No browser history, no cross-app tracking
Where your data goes
- OpenAI: coin photos are sent via signed URL for identification. OpenAI processes the image and returns a match. Per OpenAI's API data policy, submitted photos are not used to train their models.
- Supabase: our database and storage provider. Data is stored in the region you connect from.
- RevenueCat: subscription management.
- OneSignal: push notification delivery (only if enabled).
- eBay Browse API: we look up sold prices for the coins you identify, without sending any personal information.
